About The Sankalp Group
The world they say, steps aside for the man, who knows where he is going. The Sankalp Group was founded in 1980 by the visionary Mr. Kailash Goenka. He opened the company’s first flagship restaurant on Ashram Road, Ahmedabad. The rest is history.

Restaurant Brand – Sam’s Pizza
Yet another well-known brand under the wing of the Sankalp Group is Sam's Pizza. In a bid to cover multiple cuisines Mr. Kailash Goenka diversified to include western cuisine also. This was in keeping with the changing trends that liberalization and the entry of MNCs had brought into the Indian market. In 1999 the Sankalp Group developed its own popular brand of pizza and has been serving it for more than a decade. In 1997, The Guinness Book of World Records awarded a "Certificate of Commemoration" to the restaurant chain for making a 25 Ft. long Dosa – the largest Dosa in the World. In 2006, Sankalp broke its own record by making a 30 ft long Dosa, earning yet another place in the Guinness Book of World Records. The Zee Network awarded Sankalp with ‘Shabaash India Certificate of Excellence’ in 2006. The company has bagged the Times Food Award in 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013 and 2014 for its stellar performance. The Gujarat Tourism brochure describes Sankalp as the “Most Authentic South Indian Restaurant”. In May 2012 Mr. Kailash Goenka became the recipient of Gauravvanta Gujarati, an award for his excellence in entrepreneurship. The Harrow Times U.K. also awarded Sankalp the Restaurant Of The Year 2012. This was a popular choice award. This is the longest Dosa in the world and a record by itself. In Oct. 2013, The Group was awarded Best in Restaurant Category at the 11th Award for Excellence in Franchising & Business Development. In 2014, Sankalp was awarded Traveller’s Choice Award for Best South Indian restaurant by TripAdvisor.
