In March 1997,the GUINESS
BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS awarded
a 'Certificate of Commemoration' to the restaurant chain
for making a 25 ft. long dosa - the largest in the world.
Prepared on a 27 ft. long tawa, the speciality is prepared
by a team of 16, carried by a crew of 10 and served to a
group of 25 - truly a record by any yardstick!
It was just a matter of time before word spread to the end
of Indian shores - and beyond. The Gujarat Tourism brochure
described Sankalp as "the most authentic South Indian restaurant."
Food critics from the press showered accolades in their
reviews. The biggest, however, was yet to come.
